Privacy

This is what Archidocky keeps, where it is kept, who else sees it, and how to ask about it, under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020. It describes what the site does today.

What stays on your device

What you type into a tool, your project and any drawing you open are kept in this browser, on your device, and are not sent to us. We cannot see them and cannot recover them for you. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.

Two things never leave your device: the name, phone and email of a project’s owner, and the drawings you open. A PDF is read in your browser and is never uploaded.

What every visit sends

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like the host of any website, its servers see your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for, and keep a record of those requests for a limited time to run and protect the service.

Nothing else is added to that. There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts, and the fonts are served by this site rather than fetched from Google. The site sets no cookies.

Feedback

If you send a message from the feedback form, we keep what you wrote, the page you chose and, if you give one, your email address, which is used only to reply to you. Messages are kept in our database, Convex, so we can read them and act on them. We delete a message when you ask.

When you press Send, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the message comes from a person rather than a program. To do that, Cloudflare sees your IP address and some details of your browser, and our server passes it your IP address too, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.

We do not keep your IP address. To hold one connection to a few messages an hour, our server keeps a scrambled form of it, made with a key only we hold, for one hour, and then deletes it. It is never stored with your message.

Where it is kept

Vercel and Convex are based in the United States, so what they hold may be stored outside New Zealand. They hold it on our behalf, and we remain responsible for it under the Privacy Act 2020.

Seeing, correcting or deleting it

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send the request through the feedback form: say it is a privacy request, and give an email address we can reply to. We answer within 20 working days.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
